The Hualalai Administration wants to make sure everyone knows the golf cart rules, especially since there have been some accidents recently. Golf carts can only be driven by licensed drivers, 16 and up. No lap driving is allowed. Carts should be on paths.
The staff has been busy preparing for winter storms that bring high surf. The heliotrope tree at Beach Tree is being protected by large boulders brought in yesterday. The highest berms I’ve ever seen have been built in front of the Resident’s Beach House. No snow plows have been necessary.

photo by Renata Johnson Thursday night, the lunar eclipse was very visible on the Big Island. It was a sight to behold! So often we hear about the evils of texting–that we are losing connection with each other. I don’t find that to be true. Take Thursday night, for instance. At around ten, a friend texted me and another friend about something. I texted back that the eclipse was amazing. They texted back in agreement. For the next hour and a half, the three of us texted each other every fifteen minutes or so about the progress of the eclipse. I felt like I was watching it with them! Moving onto photos. Renata’s are amazing. So clear and so star filled. AWE-SOME.
Below, meanwhile, is my paltry effort with my iPhone.
