Cindy was born and raised on the Big Island and is of Japanese, German, Hawaiian, Portuguese and Hungarian descent. Growing up she was on the swim team, danced hula, played tennis and was a cheerleader for the Kamehameha JV squad.
Cindy joined the Four Seasons Hotel at Hualalai in the Recreation/Kids For All Seasons department 1996. Then in 1997 she was crowned Miss Kona Coffee and during that time toured throughout Japan dancing Hula and promoting Kona Coffee.
Then Cindy ventured off to do independent research for a documentary about the Big Island for a production company based in Burlingame, California. During that time she also was a Part Time Teacher at Kealakehe High School assisting in Auto Mechanics and Basic Woods Class.
For ten years Cindy was a Flight Attendant for Aloha Airlines until they closed their doors in 2008.
July 2015 will make 5 years that Cindy was with our Club Concierge – starting as a casual, moving into part time, then being promoted to Supervisor. Now Cindy has moved into the new position of Member Events Coordinator
Cindy has two children 8 and 7. She and her husband Scott own and operate a ranch in Kohala raising Black Angus Cattle on just under 500 acres. Scott is a 4th generation cowboy from Kohala and enjoys this as a “hobby”. His full time job is Sergeant Detective for the Hawaii County Police Department.
Cindy’s new job as Member Events Coordinator is to assist the “Social Committee” and other members in developing and creating events members can participate in. This is a new position and is part time. Soon the Social Committee will be reaching out to the membership to see if some would like to join in developing fun events throughout the year.
