Sea Turtle Research at Hualalai

Debby Webster shared the following description and photos: “I believe they found nine turtles today. They measured each one, length and width, implanted a chip for identification, etched and then painted a number on the shell, and gave them an injection of antibiotics. The kids from HPA were terrific. They really knew what they […]

Lilian took this photo from the rib craft on March 1. What a way to start off a new month!

Sunrise Special!

This is an unusual shot from me as I’m not usually vertical at sunrise. In fact, when I woke up at 6:00 AM, I thought it was the middle of the night. Who knew it was still dark at that time?

Winterrizing: The Hualalai Way

The staff has been busy preparing for winter storms that bring high surf. The heliotrope tree at Beach Tree is being protected by large boulders brought in yesterday. The highest berms I’ve ever seen have been built in front of the Resident’s Beach House. No snow plows have been necessary.

Animal House

It’s a real zoo around our house. Just yesterday a gecko came in for a visit, a mongoose strolled through the shower garden, Francolins roosted by the lanai, and birds flew in and out. These egrets were on the alert for the next guests’ arrival.

Vivid Colors, Part of Hualalai’s Decor!

Whether by nature or people created, we’re treated to the visual vividness around us.
