Many of our members new Bucky when he provided flowers for the resort and ran flower arranging classes for our members. In the earlier days he was always here a part of the Hualalai Ohana. His partner, Richard, was also known by many members. So, for your knowledge we are sharing his Richard’s obituary.

Deutsche Bank and Kennedy Wilson, the lenders in control of the Kona Village Resort’s insurance payout, are refusing to pass that cash along to the resort, CEO Pat Fitzgerald said Monday.

Sunday afternoon a major gust of wind hit the island. It seemed to come from the ocean and Beach Tree in front of the Beach Tree Restaurant fell. Thank goodness no one was injured. An arborist will be checking to see if it can be replanted and supported.

Ulu opened to the public last night and what a wonderful addition it is to our resort. Ambiance is up beat and fun, yet very Hawaiian. The bar area has a dynamite view of the ocean and is spacious and comfortable. The food was delicious, different, light and lovely to look at as well.
