Kapa Art and Tradition event for Monday Night Mooch

This past Monday MICAH KAMOHOALI`I spoke to the membership about his Ohana’s the tradition of pounding Kappa. His Halau performed showing how villages used to pound Kappa to make the cloth. They pounded unique rhythm with chants using family markers to identify the kappa in the future.

May 5th was May Day at Hualalai

The “Monday Night Mooch” was held on May 5th at the Hoku Theater at Hualalai. The Kealakehei Intermediate School performed a series of narrated dances and processions honoring the princesses and princes and Queens of Hawaiian history.

Tree Lighting Gathering was Delightful

The Hanukkah Menorah was lit and so was the Christmas tree at the Reception held at Ke ‘Olu. Flat bread pizza, potato pancakes and sushi, as well as malasadas were served with beverages as members welcomed in the holiday spirit.
