A Spring In Our Step!

It’s that magical time of year when the sun is coming up earlier and setting later. And the Francolins are taking their babies for walks around the neighborhood.  As soon as I saw the brood traipsing across my lanai, I grabbed my phone for a shot. But just opening the door was enough noise to send them fleeing for shelter. I am still in pursuit of a great shot: I try to sneak up stealthily but to no avail. Yesterday I was still in my pajamas when they came by and I jumped up to follow them…which was to the neighbors’s front lawn.

The renter, seeing this woman in her pjs stalking the bushes, slid open his lanai door. Before he could ask, I said (as if this would explain my attire and hair rollers), “It’s the Francolins. They have babies.”  He looked at me as if I were crazy and quickly shut his door.

Check out the video below to hear the Francolins warning of danger. They keep guards on alert.
