Yes, our traditional Keck lectures which were coupled with the Monday Night Mooch has been changed. Not wanting to interrupt our sunsets, the lectures are being held at 7:00pm at Ke ‘Olu under the real stars, not in the Ball Room of the Four Seasons.

Time Domain Astronomy is an “exploding” new area of study in astrophysics that breaking science and technology have made possible, revealing cosmic phenomena of a temporal nature that are now studied in real time. Dr. Kulkarni, the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Professor of Astronomy and Planetary Science at the California Institute of Technology, is also the Director of the Caltech Optical Observatories and a senior member of the Keck Observatory Board of Directors. Currently he is leading the world in discovering the richness of the transient universe.
