Ohana Foundation Hualalai Scholars 24-25!

The Hualalai Ohana Foundation was pleased to introduce the 24-25 Hualalai Scholars at the annual brunch held in their honor at Ulu. Each of these students is outstanding! You can read a little about them below.

 

 

 

Mixtli Lindsey-Robles : Mixtli is the daughter of Alfredo Robles, Groundskeeper One. She is a 2024 graduate of Hawaii Preparatory Academy, where she maintained a 3.67 GPA, and consistently earned placement on HPAʻs Deanʻs List throughout her high school career. She has chosen to pursue a major in Early Childhood Education at the University of Hawaii at Hilo, recognizing the critical need for educators in Hawaii. Mixtli expresses her profound gratitude and unwavering determination to make a positive impact in Hawaii, stating: ‘Words cannot describe how grateful and honored I am to be a recipient of this esteemed scholarship. Rest assured, I will make the most of this opportunity and work diligently to make a positive impact not only in my academic pursuits but in my community as well.”

Rocky Acasio Jr. :Rocky Matthew Jr is the son of Rocky, a lead banquet houseman. Rocky Matthew will be studying his computer engineering major at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Rocky Matthew is one of his school year’s top students, graduating as one of Konawaena High School’s valedictorians with a 4.1 GPA. With this prestigious scholarship, Rocky plans to “graduate from college and become a computer and software engineer, hoping to make advancements for technology in the future and design video games with my passion for art.” Rocky is also committed to “give back to his community and provide a good example of being one of Hualalai’s Scholars.”

 Wailana Grace: Wailana is the daughter of in-room dining server Charles Grace and Beach tree restaurant server Pi’ialoha Grace. Wailana will be attending Hawaii Community College Palamanui campus and is studying to become a Nurse. A proud valedictorian from ‘Ehunuikaimalino Hawaiian Immersion school, Wailana is dedicated to living, teaching, and sharing the Hawaiian culture and wants to ensure it is passed on to the next generation. Motivated by personal experience, Wailana “wants to go into the Nursing field so she can care for and comfort patients and their families as they face medial challenges and loss”.
