Turbulent Times In Hawaii

The Civil Beat published a story on January 26, 2022 about the high cost of living in Hawaii. It makes me wonder what the future holds.

“In the next decade or so Hawaii will have an unusually high number of people living past 85. As the number of older retirees balloons, there may not be enough working people paying taxes needed to support them.

With Hawaii’s high cost of living and low-paying jobs causing an exodus of young adults to the mainland, economists predict Hawaii will face a significant social and economic crisis in the coming years.”
