A Note from Alan Dubroff

Aloha Hualalai Owners,

I am sending this email to inform you about an unfortunate incident within the resort yesterday. (Monday, April 5.)

There was a structure fire yesterday within Ke Alaula Villas.  The fire started in a detached garage and spread to a vehicle parked near the garage.  Fortunately, there were no injuries, and the Hualalai Volunteer Fire Brigade was able to quickly respond to the scene to contain the fire.  Three other fire departments (Kona, Waikoloa, and South Kohala) also responded to the blaze.

Our Volunteer Firemen (and women) did an amazing job helping to contain the fire to its point of origin and protect the nearby homes.  We are fortunate to have a staff of amazing and committed people working within the resort. In addition, we are fortunate that several years ago the Hualalai Board of Directors committed to buying a fire truck and supporting the ongoing operations of a volunteer fire Department within the resort.  The damage from this fire was minimize through our dedicated staff and the good decisions of our Board of Directors.  I’d like to give a special thanks to Directors Peggy Kent and Ray Lagger for being instrumental in the creation of our Fire Brigade – thank you!

Please take a moment to thank our Volunteer Fire Department staff and the Security Staff for their service. (Our security team helped the volunteer brigade made up of bonafided Ex fire fighters led by our own Ralph Yawata.)

You can email Ralph with a thank you message: ralph.yawata@fourseasons.
