It’s not often Nature can offer up such a spectacular sight that the sunset is upstaged. The other evening it felt like I was at a tennis match with my head swiveling back and forth between the sunset and the rainbow.
Our own Lloyd Gillespie, Laurentiu Grigore and Michael Kemp won coveted places to participate in the 2024 Vinfast Ironman World Championship. Wishing them all good luck!!!🏊🚴♂️🏃♂️
It was my first morning back to Hawaii. We’d been gone for three months and I was thrilled to just sit on my lanai and savor Hualalai’s serenity. Then I heard the unmistakable sound of a helicopter’s rotator blades coming closer…and closer. I looked up and sure enough saw a helicopter approach, low enough that I could wave. Someone inside waved back as they landed. It turned out their mission was to pick up an air conditioning unit for the new ULU.
Here are few shots of Ulu, in progress. (The first is a rendering of the future look.)

Below is a news report about Hone, which swept through the Hawaiian Islands last weekend. We have been on the mainland, but got many inquires about how our home fared in the storm. Wonderful Mt. Hualalai usually saves us from the worst of storms.
Summer is right around the corner! The summer trees are blooming, the baby Francolins are venturing on a walk, there’s interesting yachts in the water and the campus is filling up!
